Born and raised in Fayetteville, NC, Sam and his wife, Nae are both homegrown natives of the state and devout followers of Christ. He graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Physics at North Carolina Central University and he earned his Masters of Theological Studies at Grimké Seminary. As the lead pastor, Sam seeks to faithfully shepherd Straightway Church and to fulfill the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ.

Sam and Nae joke about how their marriage is built on the firm foundation of CVS: Christ, Video Games, and Spongebob as these three things are intertwined in their daily conversations. As a hobby, Sam also likes to write Christian-based sci-fi/fantasy books on the side and he enjoys writing blog posts, as he's created A Weak Fool blog which is designed to encourage Christians and have interesting discussions.

The Passage Church

The mission of The Passage Church is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. They have faithfully trained Sam and his family and believe in Straightway Church's mission in fulfilling the Great Commission. The Elders at The Passage Church not only support Straightway Church but also act as lead advisors and counsel on the church's affairs.
